Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes adalah detektif fiktif berkebangsaan Inggris ciptaan Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Ia biasanya ditemani rekannya Dr. Watson dalam petualangannya. Ia terkenal akan kemampuan deduksinya dan kepandaiannya dalam memecahkan kasus.

Sherlock Holmes menyebut dirinya "detektif konsultan", orang yang dimintai tolong dalam suatu kasus ketika kasus tersebut dianggap terlalu sulit untuk dipecahkan polisi dan detektif lain; kita bahkan sering mendengar bahwa dia dapat memecahkan suatu kasus tanpa harus meninggalkan rumahnya. You know, at first my friends laughed when I picked up an electric guitar at a party...but when I started to play they couldn't believe it! See, a buddy of mine had just played some Metallica. "Phil's thinks he's Eddie Van Halen," somebody said. The others laughed. They were all certain I couldn't play a single note. "Can he really play?" I heard a girl whisper to Rob.

"Yeah he plays really good!" Rob said. "...really good air guitar. He's never played a guitar in his life...but check him out. This'll be hilarious."

I decided to mess with their heads. I pulled an electronic tuner out of my pocket and proceeded to check the tuning. Then I adjusted the guitar strap and flexed my fingers like I'd seen some metal guitarist do one time.

"Go Phil!" called a voice from the rear.
"Yeah dude...rock it up!" said another and they all sniggered. Nobody knew I could play an ordinary guitar let alone an electric one.
And Then I Started To Play

At first I pretended I didn't have a clue what I was doing. I held the guitar the wrong way and deliberately messed up the first chords and had the amp feeding back something horrible. The girls covered their ears. The guys laughed at me. Then I let rip - straight into an Iron Maiden track. I played it all the way through without a mistake. You should have seen the look on their faces! They were amazed. “Dude - when did you learn to play like that?”

I just smiled.
I Blew Them Away

Everybody got quite excited... “Why didn't you tell us you could play like that?"... "Where did you learn?" - "How long have you been playing?" - "Who taught you?"

"I taught myself," I replied. “Online - without boring and expensive lessons...and just a short while ago I couldn't play a friggin' note."

"You're kidding”, one guy said. "You've been studying for years. I can tell."

"Nope. I kid you not. I've only been playing a short while".

Then I told them the whole story. How I'd managed to find a way to teach myself electric guitar really quick. The same technique I'm going to share with you. That's what this course is all about - getting you up and running on the electric guitar really quick - and the good part is it won't cost you an arm and a leg. No heavy fee up front. Who Am I?

What's my story? Am I lead guitarist with a famous heavy metal band? - nope. Do I have a degree in music? - uh...no. Do I know every note on the guitar? - um...no. Do I know how to teach you to play Metal and Rock Guitar quickly without learning all the theory? - you bet!

Listen I've been into Heavy Metal and playing guitar since the age of 13 (I'm now 34). I've also played in many bands, enjoying some success with a UK Metal band called “Rough Justice”.

I know what it's like to have a guitar and you just want to play the damn thing. You know how many people buy a guitar and try to learn to play it and then give up after a few weeks? I don't either but I bet it's a lot. Why is that? Because the guitar-playing courses out there are just too difficult or too boring. Seems every book on learning guitar is either “how to play lame songs from the 60s” or “how to play at a million miles per hour”…which is fine if you can already play! Some of them have you learning the theory of music as well - learning to read music - and that's a horror-show. Why go down that path? Many of the top metal guitarists can't read a note. And you don't need to either.

To put it simply - I've discovered an insane secret method which will astonish you…and you will learn to play guitar 10 times quicker!

I taught myself to play with this method and then I went on to teach my best friend. You see, a few years back I had a problem. I had a friend who wanted to play lead guitar in our band. We had a gig coming up at New Year’s Eve but he couldn’t even play a note!

Now, I knew I couldn’t go through all the theory with him as that would take forever. But I noticed that when playing the majority of Heavy Metal songs there were certain chords that came up time and time again - with slight variations. I also found that a lot of them could be simplified and still sound the same, especially when you added loads of distortion and volume. (In fact, the night of the gig, I made a few fluff-ups but somebody asked how I did the whole thing without a single mistake!!) So I threw the theory book out the window and created a system which would teach him what he needed to know to play heavy metal guitar quickly!

I took all the essential chords which you need to play 90% of metal songs, simplified them in a way that they were easy to play but sounded the same and used these to learn enough songs to play a set list. And it worked! We did the gig using this method. That New Year’s Eve we played to a packed-out hall of screaming metal fans! It’s a feeling you just can’t describe, although that feeling could be yours very soon.

(Oh yeah...I’ll never forget the look on the audience’s faces when our singer announced “Well, I’ve been asked not to swear tonight, and I think I’ve done pretty well, but unfortunately, the next song’s called F**king Hostile, but we’re gonna do it anyway!!!”)

That concert caused an avalanche of people asking me to teach them too. I couldn’t possibly teach everybody in person how to play, but I have done something that is even better.
